The GE OEC 9600 mobile c-arm has a 4.0kW X-ray capacity. It provides analog spot-film imaging and fluoroscopic image guidance for patients of all ages and sizes. It was produced from 1994 to 1999 and had no apparent successor until the release of the GE OEC Brivo in 2013.
The GE OEC 9600 is most similar to the GE OEC 9800 plus. They include similar 16” dual CRT monitors, but the OEC 9600 does not have a touchscreen option. General surgery, minor vascular procedures, and MSK procedures such as needle positions for aspirations and impart localizations are the clinical applications of the GE OEC 9600.
The OEC 9600 has 9” or 12” image intensifiers, a passive tube cooling system (rated 60,000HU/min), a 4.0kW rotating anode X-ray tube, and a large, 300,000HU tube capacity. The GE OEC 9600 is an older machine, but its imaging options and quality combined with its low cost make it a suitable c-arm choice for many practices.
