The Philips ClearVue 550 is a cost-effective shared service machine positioned in between the ClearVue 350 and the ClearVue 650. Compared to the ClearVue 350, the ClearVue 550 includes an articulating arm for the monitor, which is the only difference between them. The ClearVue 550 has excellent image quality and great workflow. It overperforms in OB/GYN, abdominal imaging, radiology, vascular, and musculoskeletal applications.

Philips ClearVue 550 includes many of the standard Philips ultrasound technologies such as AUTOSCAN, iSCAN intelligent optimization, XRES, and SonoCT. It also has a 19” high-contrast HD screen capable of showing fine details. All of these features make the ClearVue 550 a desired shared service machine by clinicians and ultrasound technicians.

What is the difference between the Philips ClearVue 550 and the ClearVue 350?
The only difference between the ClearVue 550 and the ClearVue 350 is that the 550 includes an articulating arm for the monitor. When first launched, there were some image quality and feature differences. However, all versions past 3.1 only differ with the articulating arm.
What is the difference between the Philips ClearVue 550 and the ClearVue 650?
Earlier models of the Philips ClearVue 550 had a smaller monitor size of 17” compared to the ClearVue 650’s 19” screen. However, version 3.0 and later of the 550 has a 19” monitor as well. The ClearVue 650 adds 4D imaging as a standard feature and two volume transducers. 4D is an option on the ClearVue 550.

We love the Philips ClearVue 550 portable ultrasound machine because of its simplicity and high reliability. We have 3 in our facility for over eight years, and the only downtime we’ve had has been for routine maintenance. We’ve never had a machine breakdown, and we scan a LOT of patients. It’s super easy to maneuver, too; it is lightweight and has a slim profile. It doesn’t get in the way as we’re navigating some of our busy hallways.
