The GE Vivid S70 R3 v203 is a premium cardiac ultrasound machine with 4D imaging. It uses GE’s cSound beamforming software and can use 4D TEE (transesophageal echocardiography) to provide detailed 4D heart scans.

If your clinic doesn’t need 4D imaging and wants to save some money, look toward the lower-cost GE Vivid S60 instead. The Vivid S60 lacks 4D but looks nearly identical while retaining many cardiac features.

The GE Vivid S6 was the predecessor to the GE Vivid S70. The newer Vivid S70 R3 v203 has improved cardiac features, newer cardiac technologies, several hardware upgrades, cSound beamforming software, efficiency improvements, and compatibility with GE’s XDclear transducer probe series.

Its 19” HD LCD provides crystal clear images with great contrast, which helps with cardiac assessments. The GE Vivid S70 R3 v203 uses an intuitive 12” multi-touch LCD touch panel with customizable shortcuts and workflows, which makes sonographers more efficient.

What is difference between the GE Vivid S60 and the GE Vivid S70 R3 v203?
The S70 R3 v203 has 4D cardiac imaging capabilities and the S60 does not. However, the S60 is much less expensive. Appearance and workflow-wise they very similar and use the same hardware and software.
What is cSound on the GE Vivid S70 R3 v203?
The cSound architecture is GE's beamforming software for ultrasound imaging. The imaging results with cSound are similiar to hardware-based beamforming.
