The GE Vivid E90 is a best-in-class premium cardiovascular machine that is compatible with GE’s XDclear ultrasound transducers like the M5Sc and C1-6-D. The Vivid E90 is GE’s replacement of the GE Vivid E9, its predecessor. Functionality-wise, the E90 has very similar user inputs with an upgraded touchscreen interface. However, the Vivid E90 comes with the all-new cSound technology- GE’s new and improved image processing software.

The Vivid E90 has powerful image optimization, fantastic ergonomics, and sizable 12-inch multi-touch LCD screen, and a fully articulating 22-inch ultra-HD OLED monitor. The GE Vivid E90 lacks 4D cardiac features, which are standard on the GE Vivid E95. Otherwise, the GE Vivid E90 and E95 have identical features and look nearly identical.

While it is designed for cardiac applications, the GE Vivid E90 can be used with other GE probes for use as a shared-service system.

No, the GE Vivid E90 does support 4D but a different model from GE, the Vivid E95 does. However, the Vivid E90, paired with an XDclear probe, produces superb 2D and doppler cardiac images which provide similar diagnostic information as a 4D scan.
What is cSound on the GE Vivid E90?
GE's cSound is a software that performs beamforming to get a complete scan of the heart which it then produces detailed cardiac images on the 22" OLED display.
What is TVI on the the GE Vivid E90?
TVI (Tissue Velocity Imaging) on the Vivid E90 quantifies the amount of motion of myocardial tissue.

The GE Vivid E90 is a substantial upgrade to the already fantastic GE Vivid E9. The Vivid E90 is a powerful cardiology ultrasound machine that provides excellent image quality through GE’s leading cSound beamformer technology. Unlike most ultrasound machines that use hardware for beamforming, the GE Vivid E90 uses industry-leading software. With the cSound beamforming, the Vivid E90 can reconstruct and render a fantastic and complete 2D or 3D image of a heart from just one position. Lastly, the GE Vivid E90 has a sleek and modern appeal. It has a large, ultra-high-def display and intuitive touchscreen controls (with knobs and buttons), all in an ergonomic footprint.
